Mission of the
Academy:
|
The goal of the
Citizens Academy is to promote a better relationship between the
Sheriffs Office and the community it serves and to foster a
clearer understanding of a Deputy Sheriffs duties, how the
Deputy carries out those duties, and the end results of the
Deputy’s actions. The Citizens Academy is not being held to train
citizens as Deputies or to exercise Law Enforcement authority of
any kind.
Course
Description:
Instruction
consist of one 2-hour class held each week for a duration of
five weeks. The instruction is comprehensive, covering
different aspects of Law Enforcement each week. Each block
of instruction will be taught by certified Law Enforcement
and Public Safety personnel.
